Amazon has built a new wireless electronic reading device that is portable and connects directly to the internet with the help of Sprint, the Amazon Kindle. So the Kindle can connect directly to Amazons Kindle store to download books directly to the device. You will not be able to transfer the books off of the device or move them to another reader. This is for security of the content. It also holds approximately 200 titles, has 180 MB usable and can be used without a computer.
It is a great new invention, except for that it isn’t really a new technology. There have been many electronic readers in the past that have failed. Amazon is hoping that this will take on and they sold out the first day of offering the units. The wireless feature is very nice and given that it doesn’t cost extra is great. You can connect directly to Amazon to buy books.
Amzaon has developed their own file struture called AMZ file. They also have a great screen that is really easy on the eyes. And very unique from reading on any other electronic device. While many people have steered away from elecronic reading, this unit is more “book like” than anything else on the market.
