Social networking sites such as Bebo, MySpace and Facebook are on the decline as users are spending less and less time on these sites. All the main players in the industry all took double digit hits in the last month. This may be associated with people socializing with real people during the holidays instead of online. Even so, the decline was already seen prior to the holiday season.
More often people are finding less and less interest in these networking sites. People initially got on, collected a lot of friends, then interest would ordinarily drop off after that. These networking sites may be forced to look elsewhere for ad dollars. These networking sites are looking to other countries to increase revenue. Maybe, the US has just become to fickle to maintain growth in this industry.
