What is the MiFi? Lets just say it’s like taking Starbucks with you wherever you go sans the coffee. The MiFi is a credit card size device that recieves cellular signals and then sends out a signal that wifi devices can pick up. The device is manufactured by Novatel and is available on Verizon and Sprint. Both wireless providers sells the device on a two year subsidized contract for about $99 for the device. The service is about $40-60 depending on how much date you’ll be downloading per month.
The device is easily slipped into a pocket or a purse or briefcase. It provides on the go connectivity to the internet for multiple devices. It’s great for connecting devices in a business meeting or going out with friends who need internet connectivity. The devices last about 4 hours of use and about 24 hours of standby on a single charge.
