iPhone Market Share Surges 375%

Watch out Nokia and Blackberry, there is an iPhone hurricane approaching.  When Apple released the iPhone a little over 2 years ago, the markets share of its iPhone has rocketed to 13% market share.  The market share of the iPhone in the second quarter of this year expanded 375%.  This is due to the release of the newest iPhone, the 3GS.  The iPhone 3GS will only make more inroads into RIM and Nokia’s market share as more and more countries are coming online to sell the iPhone, notably China.  Apple is working with cell phone providers to start selling the iPhone in China.  This is only good news for Apple, and the news will get better.

Toshiba Announces 64gb SD Card

Toshiba today announed to photographers hungry for capacity a 64gb SD card.  The only problem with the new 64gb SD card is that current point and shoot and SLR cameras can’t utilize it without some certain modifications.   Also, the new SD cards will not be avialable until Spring.  So we’ll just have to wait.

The new cards uses a different format SDXC that is different from its current lineup of SDHC.  The format will allow these cards to have a potential capacity of 2 terrabytes.  Pricing for the new 64gb was not announed because they will be using market pricing for flash memory in the spring.

Toshiba also introduced a new 32gb and 16gb cards as well.  These cards will be available in the Spring as well.  Good thing about these cards is that it can work in exisiting cameras.  This is great news for those people who use video in their cameras.  Now they can capture video in long takes without having to switch out cards.  Pricing for these cards will not be available until Spring as well.

All three cards will boast a whopping read speed of 60MB/s and a write speed of 35MB/s.  Toshiba is pushing the barriers of capacity with these new cards.
