In trying to compete with the 50,000 or so apps on the iPhone app store, Blackberry has gotten their app store now online. However, reviews of the app store on the phone itself have not been pleasant. The search features and overall user friendlyness of the store is very poor. Their online offering is a little better but not the same in comparison to the Apple app store.
Other than the hickups, the Blackberry online store may do well since Blackberry has a huge following. However once Apple starts selling phones on other carriers, it may be a different story. Many people have not switched from Blackberry to the iPhone mainly because they’d have to switch to a more inferior network as such in the U.S. with AT&T versus Verizon.
